Pre-rant: I understand giving businesses incentives can lead to better accessibility! Sometimes you have to work within the current structures.
I commend disabled colleagues advocating in corporate spaces while having to cater to how non-disabled spaces will also benefit. Your work is vital and people should cherish you! And I don't know how you do it.
Rant: Here's why I can't bring myself to promote how accessibility will benefit non-disabled people. I simply don't care. Lol maybe it's a bit harsh. But I could care less how your business will profit or grow from accessibility practices. Anything beyond doing it for disabled people is weirdly demoralizing to me [probably because it's personal].
To sit in a room and convince a group of people why they should care about my loved ones and disabled kin. Why access matters far beyond personal gain and capitalism. I don't have the heart for it.
Accessibility is a basic human right. Period. That's your incentive! Or the only one that matters for me. I work in this industry so that my community can access your content. Because they have every right to.
On that note! I'm practicing my own access. Taking a month and half off work to rest! It's been a ridiculously eventful year. Full of opportunities I never dreamed of. Grateful for everyone I've worked and collaborated with this year!
Won't be responding to anyone until January. Live long and prosper.
