Image 1: Deconstructed collage of a two headed wheelchair user in an abstract surrealism style. Monochromatic beige with harsh black shadows.
The torso is hollow with detached limbs and duel heads connected with thin drooping lines and branches. In the centre coming up from the waist is a hand holding a heart, attaching to leaves that are coming out of the top of the neck. The duel head is off to the right and attaches to the left side of a wheelchair seat, and two floating wheels. On the right are two more wheels floating near a wheelchair controller. There is a hole at the bottom of a galaxy scene with flowers coming out attaching to the person’s legs.
Title in the top left corner. A span of time used to prove we are awake, only to avoid the fact we’re deep asleep. Lorem ipsum placeholder body copy in three paragraphs. The text is scattered throughout the poster and in between negative space in the graphic.
Image 2: Studio photo of the Sleep Walking card deck box. Dark olive-grey with uppercase wavy serif text. The word sleep walking is broken up to wrap on all sides and read vertically. A Yellow YOC Concept Of The Year 2022 stamp. Photo and editing by Yummy Colours.
It arrived! Last year I secretly got involved in @ConceptOfTheYear from @YummyColours which just launched last week.
My contribution involved the disconnect in many aspects of a sleepwalking state. From how it felt as a disabled person and designer in the middle of a pandemic.
Simultaneously witnessing a burst of progression while also facing much disregard for the lives of many. Split in many aspects. So this is my artsy interpretation of sadness, loss, hope and endurance.
