design updates

2024

Auto complete and better features added to form fields.
Enlarged social link buttons on footer and quick links, as well as anchor link section updates for long pages.
Added scale effect to box item links [saved content and discord pages] on hover, pressed, and focused states.
Made toggle boxes full-width for clickable space. Removed toggles for service compare charts, and added hover states for each row.

2023

Learned from Alyssa Panetta a border was added to mobile menu button. Quick links page social icons updated to include the site names underneath.
Added a tooltip hover to the home page navigation link.
Updated button link styles in all different states. Removed skip buttons and added skip to anchor links on long pages.
Cleaned up spacing and design layout site wide. As well as edited text copy, site page names, and image descriptions.

2022

Removed external database links in the Site Map page to avoid unhelpful navigation. All pages listed there are now internal.
Search results still show database entries with external links [which make up the resources and perspective pages].

website development

Jessica Oddi built this website using WebFlow. Custom theme follows WCAG 2.2 [Web Content Accessibility Guidelines] as a base. The site uses HTML, CSS [Cascading Style Sheets], and minimal JS [JavaScript].

Features from disabled community practices were included. Image descriptions, crediting sources, spacious layouts, and simple styling.

developer testing

Devices: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera, on macOS Monterey. Edge on Windows 11. Chrome on Samsung Galaxy S20 Pro and Google Pixel. Safari on iPhone 7 and iPad mini 2.
Assistive Tech: Apple VoiceOver and Voice Control, Windows Narrator, Android TalkBack and Voice Access.
Manual: Keyboard-only navigation, zoom, inverted and colour filters, and readability using Hemingway Editor.
Automated: ARC Toolkit [TGPi] audit with 0 errors. 3 warnings manually reviewed to be non-issues. WAVE [Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool] audit with 0 critical errors and 0 alerts.

community testing

Jessica gathered user tests from a selection of paid volunteers, and thanks them for their contribution! The original build was navigated by:

On Zoom Text, horizontal scrolling is needed with the full zoom setting. Jess recommends using the browser zoom before using the app, for better reflow of content.

community feedback

Jessica knows accessibility is a commitment that must adapt over time. It involves going above compliance to serve the disabled community. She is always searching for contributors to reflect more assistive tech and perspectives.
